The section between Kosoku Kobe Station and Shinkaichi Station on the Kobe Rapid Railway is connected by an underground passage called Metro Kobe.
It's a retro underground shopping area with restaurants, a table tennis hall, and more, exuding a Showa-era atmosphere, but it has recently been renovated to feel brighter.
The side walls are adorned with paintings of Kobe, trick art, and depictions of Kobe's history.
The central square near Shinkaichi Station is named metro+ and features a street piano and seating.
Shinkaichi Station on the Kobe Rapid Railway is served by four private railway lines: Hankyu, Hanshin, Sanyo, and Kobe Electric Railway.
