In front of the south exit (east side) of Akabane Station, you'll find the Akabane Post Office, which has a Yu-Yu window, Akabane Hospital, and the Akabane Kaikan, where the library is located.
And right in front of Akabane Kaikan is "Akabane Park," a spacious park.

My first impression was, "There's such a spacious park so close to the station!"
It's a relaxing park that's hard to imagine from the red lantern drinking streets and the area in front of the station.

Akabane Park is divided into three areas:
- A playground area with slides and a sandpit
- A plaza with a fountain and a clock tower
- A small park area with a giraffe slide

The park area with large playground equipment on the Daiei side was bustling with families with children and many children.

There were benches next to the sandpit. If you just look at this area, it's like a resting place you might find in Asia, with lush trees.

And the symbol of Akabane Park, "The Great Sky Gate," is located on the Daiei side.
It looks like a cat (=^・^=)
Upon closer inspection, there are spiral staircase-like sections on both sides, and I wanted to climb them, but they were closed.

The Great Sky Gate was completed in 1968. It was built as a gate connecting the east and west, hoping for the development of the east side after the completion of the Akabane-dai housing complex on the west side.
Until 2009, it was a large playground called "Spiral Slide" with a height of 45m from the ground, but for safety reasons, it was reborn as a monument from 2012.
It must have been a popular playground back then...

Now, when you go to the clock tower and fountain square, there are benches for two people lined up on the Akabane Hospital side.
Since Daiei and Seiyu are located very close to Akabane Park, it's convenient to remember this place as a place to eat lunch in Akabane!

And this is the clock tower in Akabane Park. It's quite impressive.

The clock tower is set on a stage reminiscent of Europe.
If you can take a good picture, it could be a photo spot for Akabane on Instagram!?

There is a fountain square in the center of Akabane Park. It's really a Western-style park.

There was also a cute swan monument!
The fountain equipment was stopped, but does it operate depending on the time of day?

There are also benches around the fountain square. There is no playground equipment here, so you can relax and take a break.

There are also pergolas and benches nearby, where the planting is lush.
I visited on a scorching hot day, but this bench was in the shade, so I could take a break and avoid direct sunlight, and it was surprisingly comfortable.

Let's go to another area of Akabane Park, the "small park area."
There is an area surrounded by tall trees in the front, and there are also benches. This is also a shaded bench.

This is great! A small, handmade pergola and bench.
It seems difficult to avoid the sun and rain... (laughs)

There was also a squirrel with a long tail.
The age groups of children are separated between the small park area and the area with large playground equipment, so it seems like you can let your children play with peace of mind.
I thought it was also recommended as a resting spot in Akabane, and it's a convenient location to spend time in when you want to take a break, with a supermarket nearby.
So, why not try using it as a place to rest in Akabane?
