Introducing the rest area "Akihabara Station | Rest Spot at Akihabara Neri-bai Park" at 秋葉原駅徒歩6分.

We've actually investigated, so let's take a closer look!
I was wondering if there was a place to take a break and relax in Akihabara on the Showa-dori side.
**This time, I'm introducing Akihabara Neribei Park, a great spot for a break! It's perfect for taking a rest during your shopping or sightseeing in Akihabara.**
To get to Akihabara Neribei Park, **exit the JR Central Ticket Gate or the Tsukuba Express Ticket Gate and head to the rotary in front of Yodobashi Camera.**
Then, after passing McDonald's and the Fujisoft Building, you'll see the park near the JR overpass.
You can see the fence of Akihabara Neribei Park.
Looking at the address plate nearby, it says Akihabara, but the old town name was Neribeicho, so the park was named by combining the town names.
By the way, I wondered what "Neribei" was, and after looking it up...
> "Neribei" (練塀) is a type of earthen wall made by alternately stacking roof tiles and kneaded soil, with the top covered with roof tiles. It is a beautiful wall with a striped pattern created by the tiles and soil, and it was particularly popular among samurai in the Kanto region. In the Edo period, this area was a samurai district where Neribei walls were widespread.
I see!
So, here's the entrance to Neribei Park. **It's a beautifully maintained park, you wouldn't think it's located near a JR overpass.**
It was probably redeveloped as part of the under-the-overpass projects like "**chabara**", which handles local specialties from Akihabara, and "**2K540**" for traditional crafts.
**Oh... I see some benches.**
**There are 5-seater benches. They are relatively clean, making them excellent benches.**
They have handrails, so you can sit down slowly while holding on. These are user-friendly benches.
**This place seems like a great spot to enjoy your lunchbox in Akihabara!**
If you go a little further into the park, you'll find a calming atmosphere with brick-like accents and planted trees that separate it from the walking path.
I visited in mid-November, and the leaves were starting to change color.
**There were also many single-seater benches, so it's a good place to relax when you want to take a break in Akihabara♪**
How about reading a book on these benches?
Looking at it this way, it's a cityscape park.
**There were no playground equipment inside Akihabara Neribei Park, but there weren't many people and there are fences, so it would be perfect for families with children to take a break.**
**One point to note is that the opening hours vary depending on the season!**
* Regular hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* Summer (July to August): 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Since the main street for sightseeing and shopping in Akihabara is Chuo-dori, this park is away from it, so there were hardly any people around.
**For this reason, it is recommended when you want to take a break away from the crowds and relax in Akihabara!**
Also, the "**2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN rest area**", where shops selling traditional crafts are located nearby, is semi-indoor and provides a calm atmosphere, so please stop by!
So, why not use it as a place to sit and take a break around Akihabara?
