"The Former Site of the Dog Service Residence"
Just a short walk from Wakamatsu-Kawada Station, you'll find the Wakamatsu Ward Citizens' Center.

It might look like a vine-covered ruin from the outside, but it's actually the perfectly respectable Wakamatsu Ward Citizens' Center in Shinjuku.

There's a rest space right next to the entrance of the Citizens' Center.

There are four two-seater benches near the bicycle parking area. A great spot to meet up in Wakamatsu-Kawada too!

It's a little tight, but perfect if you want to quickly eat your lunch near Wakamatsu-Kawada Station.

By the way, this is the former site of the Dog Service Residence in Okubo. The Kakoi Town in front of the Nakano Ward Office is famous, but apparently there were Dog Service Residences in Okubo and Yotsuya as well.
So, why not use these spots around Wakamatsu-Kawada Station as your go-to rest areas?
