The two-story wooden station building at Choshi Station is actually a new station building completed in April 2018. It's quite recent!
And a short walk from Choshi Station, you'll find "Choshi Select Market," which sells local products.
To get to Choshi Select Market, walk straight along the main street in front of Choshi Station towards the Tone River for about 5 minutes, and it will be on your right.
Also, you can enjoy "Soy Sauce Soft Serve," which is unique to Choshi, famous for its soy sauce, at the Select Market!

I visited on a Sunday, but it wasn't too crowded, perhaps because it was November.
The Choshi Select Market opened in November 2009, and it has been celebrating its 10th anniversary!
If you're looking for souvenirs from Choshi, the Select Market is a great place to visit, with a wide selection, including "nure-senbei" (moist rice crackers)!

And inside Choshi Select Market, there are many tables with seating for four people!
It's easy to use for families with children, and it's perfect for enjoying snacks purchased at the Select Market ♪
If you are near Choshi Station, this is probably the place with the most tables.

There are benches dotted around the Select Market, providing space for solo travelers to take a break.
Most of the visitors were locals, and many of them were buying vegetables and fish.

If you go through the passageway and come to the back of the Select Market, you'll find seven tables with seating for four people, just like the ones mentioned before.
It's also convenient when you want to eat lunch near Choshi Station ♪

That's right! I wanted to eat the soy sauce soft serve!
I asked the clerk at the shop in front of Choshi Station, and she told me, "You can eat soy sauce soft serve at NEWDAYS or Choshi Select Market."
I thought, "Not at a convenience store..." and decided to visit the Select Market.

I ordered the Yamasa soy sauce soft serve!
It's sweet and salty! It has a hint of soy sauce flavor, and it's an addictive taste ♪
So, I thought that the Select Market is a spot you should definitely visit when sightseeing in Choshi!
Speaking of Choshi specialties, it's nure-senbei.
I loved the moist texture, and I bought a lot of them on my way back after looking for a bench ♪
It's so delicious to munch on!
By the way, did you know that the management of Choshi Electric Railway was saved thanks to the hit of nure-senbei!?
Also, if you are near the station, be sure to visit the bench at "Ekimae Rotary Plaza".
