When you think of Fuchu-Hommachi, you might think of the Fuchu Racecourse or the Tamagawa Kyotei boat race.
But, you can also walk to the Okunitama Shrine, enjoy a tour of the Suntory Musashino Brewery, visit the Fuchu Market (Dai Tokyo Sogo Oroshiuri Center), and easily access Fuchu Station on the Keio Line!
Now, let's head to the "Daini Toshi Yuhodo" (Second Urban Promenade) on the west side of Fuchu-Hommachi Station.

The promenade along the tracks is beautifully maintained and perfect for a stroll.
There's a holding area for the Musashino Line (for turning trains around), so you'll see some train enthusiasts there.
The Suntory Musashino Brewery and the Fuchu Market that I mentioned earlier are just down this promenade.
And, on the right side of the promenade, there's a spacious park called "Yazaki Town Disaster Prevention Park"!

There are several two-person benches in the park.
It's a wide open park with lots of greenery. The ground is covered with gravel.
It's close to the station, making it perfect for children to play.

This bench has armrests in the middle. It was relatively well maintained.
It seems like a great spot to relax and read a book~♪
It's on the opposite side of the holding area, so you can't sit and watch the Musashino Line (haha)

What is that small gymnasium-like building...?
It's a disaster prevention warehouse, which is also the origin of the park's name.
It functions as a disaster base and is equipped with stockpiles for emergencies.
There are also benches and stools that can be transformed into a kamado (cooking stove)!

The view from the bench.
By the way, next to the warehouse is a public restroom, and it has all the necessary facilities except for playground equipment.

Also, Yazaki Disaster Prevention Park is a station for the share cycle service "Norisuke."
These are electric-assist bicycles that can be dropped off at any station, and you can rent them from 60 yen / 15 minutes!
There are stations in a wide area, from the Seibu Shinjuku Line to the Nambu Line, so it's also recommended for cycling~♪

So, why not use it as a place to take a break and relax around Fuchu-Hommachi Station?
