The Hamamatsucho Building, once known as the "Toshiba Building" as it housed the headquarters of the Toshiba Group, has been renamed "Hamamatsucho Building" and is now a high-rise building mainly for tenants.
You can access the Hamamatsucho Building from the south exit of Hamamatsucho Station via a pedestrian deck.

This is the station layout of Hamamatsucho Station. The pedestrian deck connects from the "Hinode Pier" area, located in the lower left of the Hamamatsucho Station layout.
Proceed to the end of the pedestrian deck and go down the stairs, then walk straight along the promenade.
You'll see high-rise buildings on your left, and there's a place where you can sit and rest at the top of the deck stairs.

You'll come out on a spacious deck with a great sense of openness.
There's a monument that you might want to duck under and some wooden benches.

There were 3 wooden benches, each with 3 seats.
I visited around 3:00 PM on a Saturday, but there was no one on the deck, so I could relax and take a break in the spacious area.
I guess it might be crowded with office workers during the weekdays.

There was a long stone bench near the center of the deck.
I visited during the summer, so the seating surface was hot, but there are plenty of seats, so it doesn't seem like it would be difficult to find a place to sit.

It was a deck that somehow reminded me of the rooftop plaza of Sunshine City.
(Maybe because the color scheme of the deck is similar?)
You can see the surrounding buildings from the benches, so it's recommended if you want to relax and observe the buildings in Hamamatsucho.
It might also be a good place if you want to take a break with your family and children.

Just in case, I'll also post a photo of the monument.
During the survey, it was about 37 degrees Celsius after a typhoon had passed, and I forgot to note the name of the monument.
By the way, there is a restaurant floor on the 1st floor of the Hamamatsucho Building, which is called "Three One Plaza".
Why Three One??
It comes from the address, which is Shibaura 1-chome, 1-ban, 1-go. I see.
It was a deck rest spot that could also be used as a place to eat lunch in Hamamatsucho.
So, how about using it as a seating rest spot around Hamamatsucho?
