To get to Sunshine City, take the JR or subway to Ikebukuro Station and head towards the East Exit.
Cross the intersection from the East Exit and go through the underground passageway from the side of Tokyu Hands to enter Sunshine City B1F.
Go straight through Sunshine City, and you will arrive at the Fountain Plaza in the center of the floor.
This is a view looking down at the Fountain Plaza.
During the survey, a soccer event called "FC Tokyo Playpark" was being held.
As such, live performances and events are often held at the Fountain Plaza, mainly on weekends and holidays.
And, there were places where you could sit and take a break around the Fountain Plaza on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors!

On the 2nd floor, several circular wooden benches that can accommodate about 20 people were installed.
Since the rest area is spacious and has many seats, we recommend the area around the Fountain Plaza when you want to take a break at Sunshine City!

There were sofas along the passage on the side of the center of the floor.
The front of the sofa has an open feel with an atrium, and there is also plenty of space for your feet, so if it's available, you'll want to take a break on the sofa.
It might be good for a break during a Sunshine City date.

This is a rest area on the 3rd floor restaurant floor. Here, wooden benches that can accommodate about 20 people were placed.
The atmosphere was darker compared to the 2nd floor, perhaps because the ceiling was under construction.
Since it gets crowded during meal times, it seems better to use the 2nd floor.
I'll also summarize the information for the 1st floor below!
■Sunshine City Fountain Plaza 1F
Comfort Level ★★★☆☆
Wooden benches for about 35 people
Crowded on holidays.
■Sunshine City Fountain Plaza 2F
Comfort Level ★★★★☆
Wooden benches and sofas for about 40 people
Recommended as it's spacious.
■Sunshine City Fountain Plaza 3F
Comfort Level ★★★☆☆
Wooden benches for about 20 people
Tends to be crowded.
Regarding the crowding situation, we confirmed on weekends and holidays, and the seats were about 80% full, but it seems that you can avoid the situation of not being able to sit down because there are many seats.
It's perfect for taking a break when you're tired from Nanja Town, the aquarium, or shopping.
Also, since events such as concerts are often held at the Fountain Plaza, the rest area on the 1st floor may be crowded depending on the day.
In addition, the "Sunshine 4F Rooftop Garden", which can be accessed by a nearby escalator, is spacious and allows you to relax and take a break, so please stop by as well!
So, why not use it as a place to take a break in Ikebukuro while you're shopping at Sunshine City?
