When you think of Minami-Ikebukuro, you might think of places like Muji, Junkudo Bookstore, and the areas of Kishimojin and Zoshigaya.
To get to Minami-Ikebukuro Park, head straight from Meiji Street, with Seibu and Muji on your back.

The park was closed from 2009 to 2014, but it was renovated and reopened in April 2016.
Every time I passed by, I wondered, "How long will the construction last?" But before I knew it, it had transformed into a stylish space.
It's a park that could even try to incorporate a more stylish name, like "South Something Park", instead of just "Minami-Ikebukuro Park".
So, I'm going to introduce places where you can sit and take a break in Minami-Ikebukuro Park.

A lawn park in Ikebukuro!?
It's a park that has become an oasis in the heart of the city, making you want to exclaim in surprise.
Within the park, there's a monument to mourn the victims of the air raids in Toshima Ward. Originally, the park was created after the area, which was once a wasteland, was redeveloped.
After various twists and turns, the "Town Development Vision" project by Toshima Ward was launched, and the local government worked hard to develop the park.

On the lawn, families, couples, and single salarymen were relaxing with picnic sheets, enjoying themselves as they pleased.
It's a spacious area with no obstructions, making it a great spot to relax while looking up at the sky.

There's also a deck where you can sit on the Sunshine Street side.
Don't worry if you forgot your picnic sheet!
In that case, take a break on the wooden deck near the trees.
I enjoyed some delicious bread from the nearby famous bakery, "Racines Bread and Salad," which I took out.

And there's a cafe restaurant in the park!
It's not just a shop that offers "lunch only" or "drinks and snacks," but a cafe, a cafe!
(Is this really Ikebukuro...?)
They're generous enough to offer everything: morning, lunch, dinner, and alcohol.
Of course, you can also take out, so you can enjoy your meal slowly on the lawn.

There are also metal tables near the lawn.
Why not take out a coffee and take a break here with your partner or friends?
"What should I do with the garbage from the lunch I ate on the lawn...?"

There are garbage cans... Don't worry!
The large glass bottle garbage cans suggest that they might also sell bottled beer with takeout?
And, is there a free table tennis table nearby!?

You bring your own rackets and balls, but you can enjoy table tennis!
It's nice to be able to play exciting table tennis in the park. A playground for adults.
Speaking of which, I think there was a table tennis table when I was walking in a park in Paris... I wonder if they're imagining that.
So, this park can be used as a place to eat your lunch in Ikebukuro and also as a date spot!
The lawn area is also a great place for families with children, where you can relax and take a break.
Also, although there are no photos, there is a playground and slides in the wood chip area where children can play!
"I don't have a picnic sheet..."
In that case, why not get one at the following 100-yen shop!?

That's all! I hope you'll consider using it as a place to rest around Ikebukuro.
