What is the "Meguro Tenku Garden & Opus Yume Hiroba"?
The area around the "Ohashi Junction," which connects the Shuto Expressway No. 3 Shibuya Line and the Central Circular Route, is called "Opus Meguro Ohashi," and Meguro Tenku Garden and Opus Yume Hiroba are the main facilities.
The approximate location of Ohashi Junction is one train stop from Shibuya.
Also, a high-rise apartment building towers near the garden, and you can access the garden directly.
Highways junctions are loop-shaped, right?
Taking advantage of this feature, a donut-shaped garden spreads out.

In the center of the donut of Meguro Tenku Garden is "Opus Yume Hiroba," which has a futsal court and a place for children to play.
So, how do you get to Meguro Tenku Garden?
The nearest station is Ikejiri-Ohashi Station. Head towards Meguro River from the East Exit and follow the river towards Nakameguro, and you will see it.
It's like the Colosseum in Rome, the building appears.

Enter from the parking lot entrance here, go straight through the entrance gate, and you will see "Opus Yume Hiroba."
There are playground equipment for children and a resting place behind the futsal court.

I confirmed it on a Saturday evening, and many families with children were using it.
The center of this side-by-side bench is an Azumaya (a type of traditional Japanese pavilion), so it's okay even when the sun is strong.
It seems to be open at night for sports and photography, so it is a plaza where everyone from children to adults can enjoy.
And, if you go up the stairs around the perimeter of Yume Hiroba, you will see an elevator.
The best way to get to Meguro Tenku Garden is to access it with the elevator in front of Opus Yume Hiroba.
This is the scenery that spreads out when you go up with the elevator.

The contrast between the high-rise apartment buildings and the garden!
Rich green nature, lawns, and walking paths!
This is on the rooftop of the Shuto Expressway. You wouldn't think so, right? Haha
It was a combination of Japanese and modern, and there were also Azumaya and lights like a garden.
The walking paths have ups and downs because of the loop shape of the expressway.
As for the benches...

Many two-seater wooden benches are placed along the walking path.
It opened in 2013, so the benches are in good condition and sturdy.
As for the resting environment, I didn't feel much of the noise from the expressway, and I was able to rest calmly in a quiet environment.
I was wondering how it would be since the expressway is so close, but this was unexpected.
It has armrests, so it's perfect for a break.

Here, there was something like a bonsai next to the bench.
You can feel the Japanese taste here and there.
Is it a special arrangement for the garden?
Furthermore, if you proceed towards the Meguro Garden Management Office, you will see a grape arbor.

G, grapes!?
Grapes in Ikejiri-Ohashi, Shibuya (to be precise, Meguro Ward)...
And near the Shuto Expressway?
This was a surprise.

Muscat grapes!
They are bearing fruit well even near the expressway.
According to Wikipedia, a winery in Katsunuma, Yamanashi Prefecture, has applied to brew them!
At this rest area, you can see grapes in Shibuya. (Actually, Meguro Ward)

I was distracted by the grapes, but there were table seats here.
There are not many table seats in Meguro Tenku Garden, so it's a good idea to remember this when you want to eat your lunch.
What I was a little curious about was...
Isn't the bench in the front short?
And it looks like it has only one leg? But when I looked at the other photos, I realized that it was just hidden by the other one, and it actually has two legs.
The bench in the back is for three people, but it's a strange bench.
Now, if you go to the management office from this place, you will see an indoor rest area!

It's a place to cool off!
When you open the door manually, two 3-seater cushion benches appear.
The seating comfort is quite ordinary, like "a community center."
It's a nice resting place when the sun is strong in the summer.
However, it wasn't as cool as I thought... It's an energy-saving operation.
It's just like a community center!
As mentioned at the beginning, Meguro Tenku Garden is donut-shaped, so if you go around to the opposite side of the Garden Management Office, you'll see the following rest area in front of the Meguro Ward Library.

The area in front of the library is a relatively open rest area.
The pine trees in the center of the benches harmonize with the deck, creating a nice atmosphere.
Furthermore, towards the center of the donut, Opus Yume Hiroba, there is a small observation deck.
There are two 3-seater benches on this deck, so you can relax and rest while enjoying the scenery, and it seems to be suitable for a date in Ikejiri-Ohashi.
And, if you go towards National Route 246, Tamagawa Street, the exposed junction appears!

There are also simple benches at the same time.
This simple bench was surprisingly suitable for a break.
It's a sitting style, but it's convenient to stretch your back and take a short break.
You often see them at train platforms, right?
If you're a junction maniac, please sit on the simple bench in Meguro Tenku Garden and enjoy the meandering!
So, I went around Meguro Tenku Garden.
There were many people reading books on the benches in the garden.
I think it was just a coincidence, but there were many people choosing books in English.
It's a spot you'll want to visit when you want to relax and read a book in Ikejiri-Ohashi!
And, there were also Europeans and Americans who were visiting for a walk.
Apparently, it's a famous resting place in this area.
It's a resting place that can be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults, couples, and junction maniacs!
Why not use it as a place to sit and rest around Ikejiri-Ohashi?
