To get to Nishimachi Park, take the number 1 exit of Inaricho Station and head towards the Higashi-Ueno 3-chome intersection, which is in the direction of Ueno Station.
You'll pass the red torii gates of Shitaya Shrine.
Then, if you proceed along the road towards Okachimachi on your left, you'll see the entrance to Nishimachi Park in front of a Seven-Eleven.

You'll find a well-maintained and beautiful park entrance.
Geographically, it's located behind the Eiju General Hospital.
The tall object with a triangular roof is emphasized as if to say, "Come this way!"

A statue of two children is the landmark.
I couldn't quite tell what the child on the left is holding, even when I looked closely.
At their feet, there's a relief that says "Nishimachi Park."
And as you walk through the park, you'll find several places to sit and rest.

It's a bit hard to see, but there are many wooden benches around the trees.
It's a spacious park for a central location!
I think it might be the largest park in the Higashi-Ueno area, which is within walking distance from Ueno Station.
The surroundings are surrounded by trees, and in the center, there is a sandbox enclosed by iron bars.
(Sandboxes in the city are usually enclosed, aren't they?)

A bench for two people. It's what you'd call an abdominal muscle machine.
Looking at the legs of the bench, it seems to be connected to the seat in some way.
I wondered if it might turn into a hearth in case of a disaster, like this bench, but I couldn't tell.

This is a 7-seater bench along the street.
I visited around 3:00 PM in July, and it was great to be able to rest in the shade because of the trees around!

And there were similar benches on the Ueno side as well.
This is the kind where you can use the planting calculation learned in elementary school! The one in front is a 15-seater bench.
Nishimachi Park is spacious, so you can relax and take a rest.
Although there are no photos, there was a stone monument with children's statues and the school song on the hospital side.
I suspect that Nishimachi Park used to be an elementary school.
That would explain why the grounds are so spacious.

I'll also provide information on the equipment.
Slides, chair swings, regular swings, and toilets are available!
There was also a cute otter ride.

Regarding congestion, the benches around the trees were full, but the benches in the photos above were available.
The composition of the park was a place of relaxation, where children, office workers, and older people, representing the young, the working-age, and the elderly, all gathered together.
Indeed, a park of this size is rare.
It's also convenient as a place to eat lunch in the Inaricho and Okachimachi areas.
Also, on the way to Nishimachi Park, there was a shop called "Ueno Taiyaki"!

Ice monaka was sold in the summer.
It would be nice to buy taiyaki here and eat it at Nishimachi Park!
So, why not consider using it as a resting place around Inaricho Station?
