To get to Shitaya Shrine, take the 1st exit of Inaricho Station and head towards the Shitaya Jinja-mae intersection, which is in the direction of Ueno Station.
Then, if you look towards Okachimachi from the intersection, you will see Shitaya Shrine.

Shitaya Shrine is the oldest Inari shrine in Tokyo and is also a power spot in Taito Ward.
Since it's an Inari shrine, it's the god of grains.
The shrine was named "Shoichii Shitaya Inari-sha," and the surrounding town became known as "Inaricho"!
I see, I understand!
Currently, it is not Inaricho, but in the address, it is Higashi-Ueno.
And, there was a place where you could sit and rest in front of the Kagura-den (sacred music and dance stage).

There are four three-seater wooden benches installed.
They are simple benches, but they are perfect for taking a break while visiting the shrine.
The surroundings are covered with trees, so when I visited around 13:00 in July, I was able to rest in the shade.

This is the worship hall of Shitaya Shrine.
After using the resting area, let's pay our respects.
At the office, there were charms for matchmaking. Since it's an Inari shrine, it's "as if the rice will bear fruit."
Also, it seems that you can receive a goshuin (shrine stamp) with a fox mark on the 1st of every month!
This is a spot you can't miss if you're collecting goshuin♪

When the manager, Pen-ta, visited, it was a scorching hot day, but there was dry mist set up!
It's nice to see consideration for visitors.
Also, "Ahiru no Ga-chan" is famous at Shitaya Shrine, and a very cute duck lived there.
(Ga-chan was photographed in January 2018♪)

However, when I asked the staff at the office, I was told that Ga-chan had moved to a pond in Kanagawa Prefecture (crying).
They said that his legs were not doing so well, so I think he is recuperating in a large pond.
So, how about using it as a resting place around Inaricho Station?
