The north exit of Mitaka Station is home to various administrative organizations such as the Musashino City Hall and the Musashino Tax Office, making it a different area compared to the south exit, which is mainly a shopping street.
The north exit used to thrive with the military industry, where the Musashino factory of Nakajima Aircraft was once located.
I thought, "Oh, I see!" when I found the head office of Yokogawa Electric, a manufacturer of measurement and control equipment, within walking distance.
Speaking of which, the Mitaka area has some notable manufacturing companies like Jamco, SUBARU, Mitaka Kohki, Japan Radio (until 2016), and Secom!
Now, as I was strolling around the north exit of Mitaka Station, I found a few places where you can sit down and take a break, so let me introduce them.
First, there's the public open space of Musashino Towers Sky Gate Tower, located near TSUTAYA and the headquarters of MONTEROSA.

There were four wooden benches that could seat eight people each.
The benches are surrounded by greenery, creating a rich landscape despite being surrounded by high-rise apartments.
Since there's plenty of space, it's a convenient rest area for families with children.
"Come to think of it, it's not Mitaka Towers, but Musashino Towers?"
That's right, most of the north exit area is in Musashino City, with the Tamagawa Josui canal as the border.
Even though it's Mitaka Station, it's not in Mitaka City...

These benches are well-maintained, and are a great place to take a short break in the north exit area of Mitaka Station.
Please note that there is a notice on the benches prohibiting "smoking and eating or drinking."
By the way, there was a sign for the sports gym Megalos Mitaka near the benches. How convenient for the residents of this apartment!
You might be thinking, "This is Megalos Mitaka, not Musashino,"
I guess they chose Mitaka because there's also a Megalos in Kichijoji (probably)
By the way, Musashino Towers has two types, "Sky Gate and Cross Gate," and they stand side by side.
Unfortunately, there were no benches in Cross Gate.
However, there was a place to sit and take a break in the public open space of Cleo Reminton, which is a short walk from Cross Gate.

There was a circular bench near Reminton Dental Clinic and the clock.
There's a place to sit around the stylish streetlights, and you can also take a break surrounded by trees here.

The benches are neither good nor bad, but I was able to take a leisurely break because there weren't many people around.
It's convenient when you want to take a break on the way to Musashino City Hall or Musashino Police Station.
According to Google Maps, the clock nearby is called the "Clock of Cleo Reminton Musashino."
I forgot to take a picture, but it had a stylish appearance that reminded me of overseas streets.
So, why not use these places as rest areas where you can sit down around Mitaka Station?
