Motomachi-Chukagai Station, the terminal station of the MM Line (Minatomirai Line)!
This time, we'll introduce the rest areas at Exit 5 (Motomachi Exit) and Exit 6 (American Park Exit), where you can find the shopping district of Motomachi and the stylish American Park.
American Park is housed in a building that extends from the 1st floor ticket gates to the 4th floor and the rooftop garden (American Park).
(I forgot what the building is called, can anyone tell me?)
Let's head to the 3rd floor, where the "American Park Tokuyo Children's Garden" is located!

The escalator in this photo is your landmark.
Go up the escalators from the ticket gates, and you'll arrive at the 3rd floor.
If you're coming from American Park, use the escalator at the edge of the park!
And we found a place where you can sit and rest at the back of the escalator on the 3rd floor!

Although the foliage blocks the passage, there's a bench beyond it!
It's a bit of a mysterious space, but it's tucked away and I quite like it.

This is a two-seater bench made of simple wooden boards.
It has a makeshift design, like something you'd make in a crafts class, but it does have a backrest.
I didn't check, but I think the seat is a lid, and it's the type of bench that can store things inside.
What I noticed when I sat down was that there's no space at the foot of the bench, so you might bump your heel on the wooden board when you stand up.

Here's the view from the bench. It faces the emergency stairs.
It's right next to the escalator, but it's a bit hidden, so you might miss it.
But on the other hand, it's a spot where you can relax, so why not take a break there when you're tired from exploring Motomachi-Chukagai Station and American Park?
Also, I visited on a public holiday, so I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it might get lively during the nursery school's operating hours, which is right next to the rest area.
Also, "American Park 4F" is recommended for taking a rest, so please check it out as well!
So, why not use it as a place to sit and rest in Motomachi-Chukagai while you're strolling around American Park?
