The Shinkansen ticket gates at JR Nagoya Station are located on the Taikodoriguchi side.
Right next to the Taikodoriguchi exit, where the silver clock is located, near the Aonami Line ticket gates, you'll find a restaurant area called "Nagoya Umaimon Street".
You can find "Ciao," famous for its Nagoya-style Ankake Spaghetti, and "Misen" for Taiwan ramen!

It's close to the Shinkansen ticket gates, so it's recommended for lunch or a meal during your business trip to Nagoya, or when you want to enjoy Nagoya cuisine before heading back home!
Pen-ta did the same when he was on a business trip (lol)
And, there was a place to sit and take a break in front of "Maruya Honten" and "Ebisubar", located in the center of the floor of Umaimon Street Taikodoriguchi!

There were wooden flat benches where about 10 people could sit.
Who would have thought there would be a rest area near the Shinkansen ticket gates...
The restrooms are also nearby, which is convenient.
It's recommended for a break while eating at Umaimon Street.

And one more place! There is also a rest area in front of Matsumoto Kiyoshi.
This place is slightly less crowded than the previous rest area, but it tends to be crowded as it's a rest area near Nagoya Station.
Also, it's worth noting that free Wi-Fi is available at Umaimon Street!
It's also recommended as a meeting spot at Nagoya Station.

Now, while Pen-ta was exploring the rest areas, he got hungry and decided to have some Ankake Spaghetti...
So, he went to "Spaghetti House Ciao" located on Umaimon Street.
He visited around 1 p.m. on Obon, but he was able to be seated after waiting for about 10 minutes. (Surprisingly fast!)

He ordered the classic Mirakan♪
Wow! The thick noodles with sausage topping and the addictive Ankake sauce.
He was satisfied, as it was very Nagoya-like!
As for the comfort of the rest areas, the crowdedness is high, so I've lowered it by one level, but I think it's very convenient because it's near the station and free Wi-Fi is available!
So, why not use it as a place to rest in Nagoya while enjoying a meal at Umaimon Street?
