I finally got to visit Nakame. It's Nakameguro, on the Tokyu Toyoko Line and the Hibiya Line (the first train).
By the way, have you heard of the cherry blossom trees along the Meguro River?
The Meguro River is located near Nakameguro Station, and it's a perfect spot for cherry blossom viewing and a relaxing stroll♪
So, this time I went to "Megurogawa Funairiba."
To get to Megurogawa Funairiba, go out the east exit of Nakameguro Station and head towards Komazawa-dori Street on Yamate-dori Street.
You'll pass by the high-rise apartment called Atlas Tower, where celebrities live, and then cross the intersection, go past Nitori, and you'll see it a little further on.

I saw the sturdy wooden signboard for "Megurogawa Funairiba."
It's called Riverside Park in English. Indeed, "Funairiba" might not be familiar to everyone.
It seems that there used to be a place for boats to arrive and depart.

I saw the area surrounded by green and brick-style structures! The clock tower has a nice atmosphere.

It's a plaza, and it had a calming atmosphere.
This plaza is used for flea markets and events.

There were benches around the plaza, and it was a place for the residents to relax.
You can see the Atlas Tower I mentioned at the beginning in the background.

The benches looked old. They are surrounded by plants, and it seems like they would be buried in summer!

I'm curious about the red brick structures nearby...
The ivy is intertwined, and it looks like a ruin.

I looked at it from the front. Apparently, this structure is the "River Museum"!
I want to visit it! But it seems that it closed on April 1, 2012.
Oh no, that's too bad. Six years have passed, and I wonder if it will gradually become a ruin...

A frog-like tank.
In the early Showa period, the Meguro River's water level increased due to heavy rain, and it flooded.
For this reason, a flood control basin was built underground as a countermeasure against heavy rain. So, although the museum is closed, the Funairiba functions as a facility for the control basin.
Is the frog one of the facilities for that control basin?

If you walk around Funairiba and go to the Meguro River side, there's a plaza.
This seems like it would be used for events as well. The surrounding buildings have a nice atmosphere, so it seems like it could be used for filming dramas.

...It's spacious, but there are no benches!
There's a water flow object on the right, and you can sit and rest on the rocks.
If there were benches, it would be the perfect resting spot!
It's spacious, so it's perfect for families with children to visit.
By the way, there are benches a little further on where you can rest while overlooking the Meguro River, so be sure to check them out!
The benches at Funairiba seem to be a good place to eat lunch in Nakameguro.
So, why not use them as a place to rest in Nakameguro?
