The south exit area of Niigata Station has been beautifully renovated along with the construction of the elevated railway.
The south exit has Praka 1, 2, and 3, which house both shopping and offices, as well as Bic Camera, making it a more relaxed area than the Bandai exit on the other side.
Now, a short walk from the south exit plaza brings you to "LEXN," a complex that combines commercial facilities, offices, and residences.
The pronunciation is "Rekusun," oh, how cool!
LEXN houses Konami Sports Club, an izakaya (Japanese pub), and Tully's Coffee.

Let's take a look at the LEXN information board. This building is LEXN B and has floors from 1F to 7F.
And, the LEXN Plaza, where you can find rest areas, is located in the outdoor atrium area on the 1st and 2nd floors.

The LEXN Plaza has a circular atrium, and benches where you can sit and relax are arranged around it.
If you look closely, you can see that the benches are placed under the eaves!
The day of the survey was rainy, but I could still rest without any problems! This is a great help.

These are three-seater benches with handrails.
This seems like a good place to eat your lunch on a rainy day near Niigata Station.

There were trees and benches lined up near the LEXN building, which houses an izakaya.
Although there are more people passing by than I expected, it seems easy to secure a seat because there are many seats available.

This is a two-seater bench.
The seat is made of wood with slits, so rainwater doesn't accumulate.

Also, don't forget the stone stools in front of Tully's Coffee.
But... you might make eye contact with the Tully's customers (lol) Although you could just turn your back.
Anyway, I wonder why only here are so many stools irregularly gathered... It's a mystery.

When you go up to the 2nd floor via the stairs, there are two-seater benches lined up around the deck.
There aren't many people passing by here, and it feels open, so Pen-ta recommends the 2nd floor as well♪
However, since it's not under the eaves, please be aware that you can't use it on rainy days.
Also, nearby, there are many benches in "Niigata Station South Exit Plaza" at the station front, so be sure to check it out!
So, why not use these places as rest areas where you can sit around Niigata Station?
