“Rest Space for Daimyo”
Seiseki Park is located at the intersection of Yamate-dori and Yatsuyama-dori streets.

This historical park is known as the "Tokaido Shinagawa-juku Honjin Site" and was used as a rest area for various daimyo lords and court nobles during the Sankin-kotai period (alternate attendance system).

There are several two-seater wooden benches scattered around.
There are also trash cans. There's a delicatessen nearby, so it's a great spot to enjoy a snack!

It's a pretty spacious park with slides and playground equipment. It's easy to use for families, too!

It was named Seiseki Park because it became the lodging place (Ogosho) for Emperor Meiji during his visit.

Willow and a well!
By the way, there are only three places in Japan with the name "Seiseki,"
- Seiseki Park
- Seiseki Kamata Umeyashiki
- Seiseki Sakuragaoka
That's it!
So, why not use this spot as a relaxing break near Shinbanba Station?
