There's a pocket park at the edge of the alley behind the Chikusei City Hall.

This park is in a corner. It seems like a good place to take a little break.

 

There's a monument commemorating the development project in front of Shimodate Station. Shimodate was once famous as a town with many movie theaters. Remnants of the cinema can be seen in the townscape.

 

I thought the collaboration of stairs and benches would make a nice picture, so I decided to include it.
There are two stone benches placed there.

 

So, why not use it as a relaxing place to sit around Shimodate Station?
