To get to the Prudential Tower, go out of Akasaka-mitsuke Station and walk along Sotobori-dori towards Hie Shrine.
The Prudential Tower is a skyscraper that houses the headquarters of Prudential Life Insurance Company.
On the hilltop, which can be reached from the stairs next to the tower or the street next to the Mexican Embassy, you'll find the "Kiyo Sakaguchi Memorial Garden," named after the former chairman of Prudential Life Insurance.

Inside the memorial garden, there are many wooden benches, making it a perfect spot to sit and relax.
Since it's an office area, it's usually empty on weekends, so you can take a peaceful break.
Also, seasonal flowers and herbs like lavender and lamb's ear are planted in the garden.
It seems like you can enjoy the garden throughout the four seasons.
I especially recommend the benches around the herbs at the back of the garden, as they offer a great view.

There's a Starbucks down from the garden, so you can grab a drink to go and enjoy a leisurely break while strolling through the garden.
It's also a great spot to enjoy a packed lunch around Akasaka Station and Akasaka-mitsuke Station.
In addition, there are boards in the garden with words left by the late Mr. Sakaguchi.
The following words personally left an impression on me.

If your thoughts change, your actions change
If your actions change, your habits change
If your habits change, your character changes
If your character changes, your personality changes
If your personality changes, your life changes

These are profound words that make you think, aren't they?
So, why not give it a try as a relaxing spot near Akasaka-mitsuke Station?
