Horin Park, a relaxing oasis for Akihabara users!
To get to Horin Park, exit the JR Electric Town Exit and head towards Suehirocho on Chuo Street, then go towards Chiyoda Ward Shohei Elementary School.
Horin Park is located behind Shohei Elementary School.

There's a spacious park right in the heart of Akihabara Electric Town!
The park was renovated around 2016 and is beautifully maintained.
Actually, this park is also used as a schoolyard by the adjacent Shohei Elementary School.

Horin Park is open from 7:00 to 19:00, so it cannot be used at night.
What's unique is...
- "The park entrance is closed on weekdays mornings and is for children only."
- "Those with children can use the park by checking in on the second floor of Shohei Elementary School."
Hmm!?

If you take a good look at the outside of the park, you'll understand. Can you see the pedestrian bridge that connects to the elementary school in the center of the photo?
That's right, during the hours when the park entrance is closed, elementary school students use it as a playground via the pedestrian bridge.
External visitors with children will need to check in on the second floor, where the pedestrian bridge is located.

I visited during the New Year's holidays, and many people were using it as a place of relaxation for tourists and Akihabara locals.

Even though it's right next to Akihabara Electric Town, I was expecting it to be bustling, but it was a quiet environment and very comfortable.
And there were several benches installed on the fence side of the park.

These are three-seater benches with armrests.
They're made of weather-resistant materials and are durable. It's a perfect rest area for sightseeing or taking a break in Akihabara.
You can lean on the armrests and sit down slowly, making it easy to use for elderly people as well.

Despite being in the city center, there's large playground equipment, and it's lively with families with children.
This looks like a lot of fun♪

There are circular benches near the playground equipment, so you can relax and watch your children play.
These circular benches are shaded, so you can take a break away from direct sunlight, which is a great point.
Also, it seems like a good place to eat your Akihabara lunch♪

There's also a smoking area. You might find it convenient to remember this as a smoking area in Akihabara.
(Pen-ta doesn't smoke, though)
It's a non-smoking park, so the environment is good, and it's convenient when you want to take a break in Akihabara!

There's a "Chiyocle" share cycle stand in Horin Park.
It's recommended for those who want to explore the Akihabara area by bicycle!
It's 150 yen for the first 30 minutes.
For more information, please refer to "Community Cycle "Chiyocle" Official".
By the way, there's an underground pool at Shohei Dome Hall next to the park, which is open until 21:00!
Pen-ta will try swimming there sometime...
Here's how I visited Horin Park while live-streaming.
By the way, there are no playground equipment, but "Rensei Park Arts Chiyoda 3331", which is less crowded than Horin Park, is nearby, so we recommend visiting it as well!

So, why not use Horin Park to take a break and relax when you're in Akihabara?
