"From the Karamete Koguchi"
A short walk from Matsue Castle towards Inaribashi Bridge will bring you to the Karamete-no-Koguchi Square.

Here's Inaribashi Bridge. The opposite side of the castle's main entrance, the Ote-mon Gate, is the Karamete-mon Gate.
The "Koguchi" is the entrance to the castle, and it's a place where battles often occurred.
There are benches available too.

Here's an explanation of the Karamete-mon Koguchi Square. It seems there were gunsmiths and samurai residences here.

We can see an Azumaya (gazebo) coming up.

You can relax here with drinking water and the Azumaya (gazebo).

There are also restrooms on the opposite side of the Azumaya (gazebo), so you can relax knowing that you don't have to worry about finding a toilet while walking around Matsue Castle.

There is a walking path that leads to the Chinju no Mori (sacred forest) in the back.
There are also benches.
So, why not take advantage of these rest areas around Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station?
