For users of the Yokohama Line, it can be a little disappointing when the train stops at Higashi-Kanagawa Station...
But hey, Higashi-Kanagawa has a lot to offer! You can find the Yokohama Bank Ice Arena, an indoor ice skating rink open to the public, the Yokohama Central Wholesale Market where you can enjoy fresh seafood, and the redeveloped area of "Cotton Harbor"!
Plus, it's super convenient for transfers because Nakakido Station on the Keikyu Line is right in front of you♪
So, let's head to the pedestrian deck at the East Exit of Higashi-Kanagawa Station.
You can access Nakakido Station from the East Exit, and there's a place to sit and relax on the pedestrian deck between the stations.

In the center of the photo, you can see flowerbeds and circular benches.
The pedestrian deck is relatively clean and has a nice atmosphere.
The building on the right is the CIAL of Higashi-Kanagawa Station, which houses delicatessens, Seijo Ishii, and TSUTAYA.

On the other side, you'll find Nakakido Station on the Keikyu Line.
As you can see in the photo, the transfer between Higashi-Kanagawa and Nakakido is very close.
And the flowerbeds are so beautifully maintained, it's just lovely...

Now, about the benches. They have stone seats, and can accommodate 2 people per pair, for a total of 10 people.
There are handrails in the middle, making it easy to secure your private space, and you can use them to support yourself as you sit down slowly.

Because it's near the station, it's also a convenient meeting spot for Higashi-Kanagawa and Nakakido.
There are a lot of people passing by, but it's also a great place to eat your lunch from Higashi-Kanagawa.
By the way, there are public restrooms at the East Exit, down from the deck.
So, why not give it a try as a place to take a break around Higashi-Kanagawa Station?
