To get to the Spanish Steps in Sunshine City, take the JR or subway to Ikebukuro Station and head towards the east exit.
From the east exit, cross the intersection and go straight along Sunshine Street, with Tokyu Hands on your side, and you will arrive at the Sunshine City ground entrance.
There's a Starbucks Coffee on the 2nd floor of Sunshine City Alpa, and near there are benches where you can sit and take a break on the Spanish Steps.

There are stone benches along the planting, where about 15 people can sit and rest side by side.
The area near the Spanish Steps is a relatively spacious rest area, so you can relax here if the weather is nice.

On the day of the survey, there was an event at the World Import Mart, so the area around Sunshine was crowded with people.
Normally, it's not this crowded, so you can have a little more space to relax.

When you go up the Spanish Steps, there are also places on the 3rd floor deck where you can sit and take a break.
Even during events, the density of users was low, so I think the 3rd floor is a hidden gem for a break!

I took a picture of the bench seats.
Although there is no cushioning, the seats are slightly rounded, so they are not too uncomfortable.
Many people were buying drinks at the nearby Starbucks and relaxing on the benches.
Also, a convenient point about the rest area near the Spanish Steps is...

There is a FamilyMart right nearby! You can see the plaza near the stairs in the back left.
That means it's cheaper to take out a drink at FamilyMart instead of Starbucks, lol.
It's a matter of values, but the manager, Pen-ta, was resting while buying coffee at a convenience store!
Of course, you can also use it as a place to eat your lunch in Ikebukuro ♪
Also, when you climb the Spanish Steps, you can go to the "Sunshine 4F Rooftop Garden Rest Area".
The rooftop garden is a very spacious rest area, and it's a place that can be said to be an oasis in the city, so please stop by.
And recently, the "Sunshine City 1F Entrance Area Rest Area" is convenient for taking a break on the way to Animate, so let's keep it in mind!
So, how about using it as a rest area in Ikebukuro while shopping at Sunshine?
