To get to Kotoku Park, exit Inaricho Station's Exit 3 and head towards the Shimoya Shrine intersection, which is in the direction of Ueno Station.
From the intersection, proceed towards the Taito City Hall, and you'll find Kotoku Park along the road.

Previously known as Kotoku Children's Playground, it was renamed Kotoku Park in July 2017.
And, within Kotoku Park, there is a smoking area and a place to rest and sit.

There are four single-seater benches installed.
Although they are stone benches, the seating surface is made of wood, so they are not uncomfortable to sit on.
I visited around 3:00 PM in July, and since there is a canopy-shaped roof above the benches, I was able to take a break while avoiding direct sunlight.
It seems like you could take shelter here when it's drizzling.
Actually, you might see a bus stop nearby, and it seems this is a waiting area for the Taito City Loop Bus "Megurin."
I hadn't counted the bus stop benches, but since they are in the park, I will include them this time.

A flower bed has been set up near the benches.
Unlike a regular park, I thought the flowerbeds were beautifully maintained, and it turns out it's part of the "Flower Heart Project" promoted by Taito City.
It is said that the Yamazakura and Yamatsutsuji were planted from Minamiaizu Town, Fukushima Prefecture, so you can enjoy the flowers in the park.

There's a statue of a child riding a snail near the flowerbeds.
Was it installed with gardening in mind?

My favorite thing, according to the manager Pen-ta, is the pull box in the shape of a cicada attached to the utility pole.

The design is well-crafted when viewed from the front, perfect for the summer season.
It was a park that was easy to take a break in when walking from Ueno Station towards Asakusa-dori Street and Higashi-Ueno.
Also, right next to Taito City Hall....
The ruins of the former Shimoya Elementary School are quite impressive, so please check it out!

Also, "Shimoya Shrine" is nearby, so I recommend visiting it too♪

So, how about using it as a resting place near Inaricho Station?
