Ishikawacho is the gateway to the Motomachi and Yamate areas!
The shopping street in front of Ishikawacho Station has a cool name, "I-Canal Street," and it leads to Motomachi Shopping Street.
It used to be called Ishikawacho Shopping Street, but it seems it was reborn as "I-Canal Street" in April 2015.

The shopping street runs parallel to the Nakamura River, which is very close by.
It flourished as a key point for the opening of Yokohama Port and canal transportation, and it was a lively area.
As I strolled around, I saw a lot of chain restaurants like Torikizoku, Ootoya, Gusto, and Doutor.
It's convenient to have so many restaurants, isn't it?
And, when you go from the South Exit of Ishikawacho Station to the Motomachi area, I found a place where you can sit and take a break!

There was a three-seater bench set up along I-Canal Street.
It's compact and cute! Even so, it's quite a space-saving bench. I might be seeing this for the first time.

The comfort is as you'd expect, but it's nice that it has a backrest.
Since there's a Vie de France nearby... why not buy some bread and eat it here?
(*The seat is wet because I took the photo on a rainy day.)
When I looked back at the street view later, there were three similar benches along the Nakamura River near Ishikawacho Station, so the location of the benches on the map indicates a place close to the station.
It seems like it could also be used when you want to quickly eat your lunch near Ishikawacho Station.
Also, the "List of rest areas in the Motomachi area" nearby has some wonderful places, so please take a look!
So, why not use it as a resting place in Ishikawacho while you're strolling around the Motomachi area?
