When you think of the west exit of Kamakura Station, you probably think of "Zeniarai Benten Shrine," "Genjiyama Park," "Kuzuharaoka Shrine," and the "Great Buddha of Kamakura," which are all famous spots for sightseeing in Kamakura.
Also, the west exit is where you transfer to the Enoden train.
The area in front of Kamakura Station is bustling with shops like Komachi Street, and it might seem like there's nowhere to take a break. But, there are places to rest at the west exit!
From the west exit, go straight along the street in front of the old station clock tower. There's a seating area in front of the Kamakura City Hall, past Starbucks, before you reach the tunnel.

There are wooden tables with seating for four people.
The view isn't the greatest, with a busy street in front and the city hall parking lot behind. But it's a convenient spot to take a break on your way to Zeniarai Benten Shrine.
There's no roof to protect you from the rain, but since there are tables, it's easy to use even if you're with children.
There's a Starbucks nearby, so if the inside is crowded, you could get takeout and take a break at these tables.
It's also a great spot if you want to eat a bento lunch in Kamakura or enjoy something you bought there.
Also, another table seating area near Kamakura Station is "Seating area in front of Little Mermaid, next to Kamakura City Hall," so it might be worth considering that too.

Alternatively, there are benches lined up near "Kamakura City Hall, next to the police box."

Why not use these places to take a rest near Kamakura Station when you're tired from sightseeing in Kamakura?
