When you think of Kamiyacho, you might think of Tokyo Tower. It's within walking distance from the station, isn't it?
Now, let me introduce you to Nishikubo Tomoecho Children's Park. Nishikubo Tomoecho was the old town name in Minato-ku, and it now refers to the area around Toranomon 3-chome.
To get to Nishikubo Tomoecho Children's Park and Toranomon Marine Building, go from Exit 3 of Kamiyacho Station towards Tokyo Tower, and then turn down the alley next to Ueshima Coffee. The park is a short distance down the road.

The building on the left side of the alley is the Marine Building, and Nishikubo Tomoecho Children's Park is behind it!
Either way, it's very close to Kamiyacho Station.

You can see the entrance to the children's park, which is surrounded by buildings.
The red brick shed on the right is a storage facility for the fire department.

This children's park is beautifully maintained, even though it's in the city, and is perfect for families with children to take a break.
The playground equipment includes a slide and a sandbox (with a net over it).
The children's parks in Minato-ku are generally very clean.

And there are four two-seater benches lined up on the fence side of the children's park!
These are weather-resistant benches with handrails.
I forgot to check, but I wonder if the guards on either side of the benches are for lighting?
It's also great for a quick lunch near Kamiyacho!

Next to the children's park is the Marine Building, which is characterized by its mirror-type glass windows.
The area around the building is a public open space with benches where you can sit and relax.

There are punching-type two-seater benches lined up with trees in between.
There's no support at the back, so the seats look like they're floating when viewed from the side, don't they!?

I think it's a stylish bench that suits Toranomon.
It doesn't seem to get crowded, so it could be used as a meeting place in Kamiyacho, including the children's park.
...By the way, I haven't seen white, punching-type benches like that recently.
I think they're mostly being replaced with children's park-type benches.
By the way, I recommend the buffet at "Nilwanam," a South Indian restaurant nearby! It was delicious!
In addition to Indian curry, they also have mutton biryani and raita. Please try it!
So, why not use these places as rest areas near Kamiyacho Station?
