"Deck Oasis"
The pedestrian deck at the east exit of Kashiwa Station. It's said to be the first pedestrian deck to be built in Japan!
In Kashiwa, it's affectionately called the double deck.

There were plants and benches lined up on the double deck.

It's right in front of Kashiwa Station, so it's convenient for meeting up or when you want to eat your lunch.

You can also look out over one of the leading terminal stations in Chiba Prefecture.

Although pedestrian decks can tend to be desolate, this one is surrounded by plants, creating an oasis-like atmosphere.

There are also chairs that look like tables.
By chance, I saw young people and elderly people interacting on the benches, and I thought, "This is exactly how benches contribute to community revitalization!"
So, why not use this area as a place to take a break around Kashiwa Station?
