There's a promenade just up the stairs from the central ticket gate or the west ticket gate of Kyoto Station, near the coin lockers and the tourist information center.

You'll go up these stairs. It's right next to the coin lockers.

You'll come out to a slightly desolate area, but this is a hidden gem in Kyoto Station. There are many square benches here, but there were hardly any people...!

It's called the South Promenade.
It's a great spot to see the trains, and is also recommended for train enthusiasts.

Although it's outdoors, there's also a green space with a roof.

Benches with various plants.
It's convenient for eating lunch or meeting someone at Kyoto Station.

It seems to be a spot called Ryosui Horo.
There's a wide variety of plants!

Also, there are table seats right nearby.

So, why not use it as a resting place near Kyoto Station?
