In the Yamate hill area, you'll find the Foreign Cemetery, Western-style houses, and the Enokitei confectionery shop.
This time, I visited Bluff 99 Garden, located past the American Mountain Park.
To get to Bluff 99 Garden, head towards the Foreign Cemetery from Motomachi-Chukagai Station, exit 6 (American Mountain Park exit), and go up the hill. You'll see it next to the weather station.
What is "Bluff" anyway?
In English, it means "a cliff."
Since the Yamate area had a cliff-like terrain during the era of the foreign settlement, it came to be called "Bluff."
The name Bluff 99 Garden comes from the fact that the address designations in Yamate-cho used "BLUFF〇〇" for the building numbers.

This is the entrance to Bluff 99 Garden.
The exterior is a Western-style plaza with mosaic-patterned cobblestones.
The garden has various trees and plants, and it is beautifully maintained.
You can see the weather station managed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in the back.

Inside the garden, there are two benches with heart-shaped backs, perfect for two people.
You can relax on these cute benches in the grassy area.
The point is the cobblestones, which prevent your feet from getting dirty even on rainy days.

The photos don't look great because it was raining, but there are flowers planted near the benches, creating a nice atmosphere.
Since Yamate has many hills, it seems to be a great spot for a quick break or a date.

On the road side outside the garden, there is a circular bench that surrounds the trees.
I think it's easy to use for breaks during sightseeing or for groups.
Also, "American Mountain Park," located nearby, is also a wonderful garden and recommended for a break, so be sure to check it out!

So, why not use it as a place to take a break in Yamate?
