From the South Exit of Mukogaoka-Yuen Station, you can access Fuchu Kaido, where the Tama Police Station and Tama Fire Station are located.
Unlike the North Exit, the South Exit is a calm area with Tokyu Store and apartments.
Now, let's head from the South Exit to the end of the Fuchu Kaido overpass, near the Koizumi Bridge on the Shinkawa River.
To get to "Hikari no Shijima" at Koizumi Bridge, go towards the Tama Police Station.

"Hikari no Shijima...?" you might wonder, but it's the name of a stone sculpture by Bakusaku Inoue.
It's a distinctive object, and it seems to have been relocated to the side of Koizumi Bridge due to urban planning.
There was a stone pillar that said "60th Anniversary of the City's Municipal Administration."
And, next to Hikari no Shijima, there's a two-seater bench, which is a great spot to take a break!

It's a bench with handrails, and I think it's perfect for a break during a stroll along the Nikeryo Canal ♪
However, the fact that it's in front of the main road of Fuchu Kaido, with a lot of traffic, is something to consider...
Next to the bench, there is a Kawasaki City historical guide "Tsukui Road and Masugata Castle Ruins" for the Nikeryo Canal and Koizumi Bridge.
Sometimes, spot ducks come to play in the Shinkawa River, and if you walk towards Nakanojima from here, you'll find more areas where you can feel the greenery, so it's recommended ♪
Also, there's a family-friendly park nearby, so be sure to check it out as well!

So, why not use it as a resting place around Mukogaoka-Yuen Station?
