When you exit the West Exit of Musashi-Kosugi Station and walk towards Ito-Yokado, you'll find a commercial facility and high-rise apartment complex called Kosugi 3rd Avenue.
It's apparently a "mixed-use innovation project with 519 residences." The 1st to 4th floors are commercial and public areas, and the 4th to 38th floors are residential.
By the way, some people shorten Musashi-Kosugi to "Musako," but it's generally called "Kosugi," including Kosugi Goten and Kosugi Jinya-machi. "Kosugi" 3rd Avenue might make that point even more noticeable.

Now, in the center of the 1st floor of 3rd Avenue, there was a space called Center Square where you could sit and take a break.
There's planting on a pedestal that looks like mochi (rice cake), and benches are arranged around it.

The benches had high backs. It's outdoors, but it's designed with good drainage and is kept clean.
It seems like planting is provided because it's a complex facility that focuses on the natural environment. The surroundings are designed as passageways, but I wonder how much wind there is from the buildings.

The location is close to the station, so it seems like a good place to take a break while shopping at 3rd Avenue.
3rd Avenue officially opened in the autumn of 2020, so you can expect it to be a new spot in Kosugi.
The food court on the 1st floor has a variety of restaurants, including Thai, Indian curry, Italian, Korean, and yakitori (grilled chicken).
So, how about using it as a place to rest around Musashi-Kosugi Station?
