From Nagatoro Station on the Chichibu Railway, you can easily walk to the famous Iwadatami Rocks and enjoy the Nagatoro River Boat Ride.
I was told by a boatman on the Nagatoro River Boat Ride,
that the gentle flow of the Arakawa River is called "Toro", and because this continues for a long time, the name "Nagatoro" was given!
A little piece of trivia for you!
Now, in front of Nagatoro Station, there are tourist associations and souvenir shops, and there is a place where you can sit and take a break in the square in front of the station.

When you get off at Nagatoro Station and head towards the Iwadatami Street, you will see wooden benches like the one above.
Trees and stone monuments are set up around the area, creating a spacious square.

This is a circular wooden bench that can accommodate six people.
It's a unique type of bench with a backrest in the center of the circle.
Unlike ordinary benches, it was easy to sit because you could lean back.
Although it seats six people, if you have broad shoulders, you might take up about 1.5 seats, haha.
Do you see the solar panels on top of this bench?
I wonder what they generate electricity for.

Pay attention to the bottom of the bench!
The illustrations are lit up!
It seems that the illustrations of SL trains and river cruises, which are famous in Nagatoro, are illuminating your feet.
They say it's lit up during the winter illumination season!

This is a long bench near the circular bench mentioned earlier.
It was a bench that was neither particularly good nor bad.

This is a semi-circular wooden bench on the Nagatoro Town Tourist Association side.
It seems that about 3 people can use it.
As with the previous bench, it has solar panels, but there is no backrest on this one.

There is a vending machine and two benches.
I visited during the Marine Day holiday in July, and the heat was severe, so it was helpful when getting drinks.

Oh yes, there is a large public restroom in front of Nagatoro Station, so let's stop by before going to Iwadatami Rocks.
This is a wooden bench next to the Tourist Association, near the public restroom.
This bench is characterized by a roof.
Let's use this when you want to take a break from the direct sunlight or when it rains.
The timetable of the Chichibu Railway is about one train per hour, so you can shop or take a break at the benches in front of the station while waiting for the train.
If Nagatoro Station is the meeting place, it can also be used as a meeting spot.
So, how about using it as a place to take a break around Nagatoro Station?
