If you're looking for a landmark in front of Nagoya Station, look no further than the Dai Nagoya Building, which was completed in 1965.
The building, which has long been a fixture in front of Nagoya Station, was renovated in 2015, and the current building is the second generation. It doesn't look out of place among the surrounding buildings, and it houses restaurants and commercial facilities like Isetan.

To get to the Dai Nagoya Building, go out the Sakura-dori exit where the golden clock is located, and it's the building on the left.
It's located across the road from Midland Square, and you can also access it from the underground passage.
And, I found a place where you can sit and take a break at the rooftop "Sky Garden" on the 5th floor of the Dai Nagoya Building!

From July 12th to September 23rd, the Sky Garden has a summer theme, with an open-air garden that is designed to look like a field of sunflowers.
This heart-shaped object is a popular photo spot and was very popular with the "Insta-girls"!

You can access the 5th floor via the escalators and elevators inside the building. At the entrance to the rooftop plaza, you'll be greeted by cute sunflower decorations.

It's truly an oasis in Nagoya! I didn't know there was such a relaxing spot right in front of Nagoya Station (lol)
There are benches scattered around the Sky Garden, perfect for a break.

It's a space where you can feel the greenery even though you're surrounded by high-rise buildings. Recommended for families with children and as a date spot ♪

There are also two-seater benches available.
There's a Tully's Coffee next to the Sky Garden, so you can also take out a coffee and relax!

The sunflowers are artificial, but it was a relaxing place to take a break.

And there's a special rest area in the Sky Garden!
At first glance, it may not seem like much, but if you walk around the rooftop...

There's a counter table rest area like this here!?
Wow, the Central Towers, which is famous as Nagoya's twin towers, and the "Hisho" monument in front of the station are right in front of you... This is a paid-level rest area.

With a glass-windowed counter table, doesn't it seem perfect for a date in Nagoya!?
It's sure to be a romantic space at night.

It looks like you can boost your motivation by setting up your computer and doing some remote work here!
I visited during the Obon holiday, and while the sunflower field mentioned earlier was crowded, there was no one at this table... This is a hidden rest area in Nagoya!
It's also recommended as a place to enjoy the night view and eat your lunch near Nagoya Station.
So, why not take advantage of the Dai Nagoya Building for shopping and use it as a place to relax in Nagoya?
