Nakameguro Arcas...is that not the Harukas in Kansai?
It's similar, but it refers to a redevelopment area centered around the high-rise apartment called Atlas Tower, located at the east exit of Nakameguro Station.
It's the area surrounded by Yamate-dori, Meguro River, Komazawa-dori, and Nakameguro Station.

Here's a view of part of Nakameguro Arcas from the Atlas Tower Annex.
And the origin of Nakameguro Arcas is...
- Nakame, when calling it in a sophisticated way. ← I get that.
- Arcas is "Arukas" from "Sakura" (cherry blossoms), famous on the Meguro River, read backwards, and it means "to walk the cherry blossoms of the Meguro River."
I see, reading it backwards! What an innovative idea!
So, I decided to walk around Nakameguro Arcas to see if there are any spots to take a break.

There's a rest area in front of the Atlas Tower Annex, which was in the photo earlier.
There's also a smoking area nearby.

There were single stone benches around the planting area.
Since it's close to Nakameguro Station, it seems like it could be used as a meeting spot in Nakameguro.
The sidewalk is also wide, so you can take a break without feeling cramped even on holidays.

If you walk along Yamate-dori next to the Atlas Tower... there's a rest area near the intersection with Komazawa-dori!
It seems to be a spot with a garden motif.

There were three stone benches. The small chairs like Pino are for children.
Around the benches, the shape of the stone pavements was different, perhaps with the image of a dry landscape garden.

Now, I've come to the side of the Meguro River behind the Atlas Tower.
The stone steps on the right-hand tower side are a borderline whether they can be called benches, but there were quite a few people sitting and taking a break.

Oh, there were three wooden benches for two people near the bridge over the Meguro River!
The road is right in front, but there are pedestrian poles, so it doesn't seem like cars will come rushing in.

There's a handrail in the middle, so it's easy to sit down even for those who are not very strong in their legs.
I like this woody color.
It's a quiet area compared to Yamate-dori, so there were people reading here!

There's a small plaza called "Goryuten Playground" nearby.
When visiting Nakameguro with family, it seems like a great place to let the children play.
By the way, what's meeting here?
It's the meeting point of the Hebichugagawa River and the Meguro River. If you're wondering what the Hebichugagawa River is, check out the following!

The image quality is bad, but there were ducks playing on the Meguro River! Peace.
They were swimming upstream with all their might, just like salmon returning to their spawning grounds♪
Also, if you go towards Komazawa-dori along the Meguro River, you can go to the cherry blossom trees along the Meguro River and Meguro River Funairi, which is also a duck spot!
So, how about using it as a place to sit and take a break in Nakameguro?
