Nakanoshima Station on the Nambu Line is a popular spot for families, thanks to the many apartments and houses in the area, and its proximity to the Tama River, offering a great living environment.
Nearby, you'll find the discount store Jason, and there's also a spot where you can stroll along the water's edge at Nikaryo Canal!
And guess what? There's a space right in front of Nakanoshima Station's ticket gates where you can sit and take a break!

Nakanoshima Station, with its charming station building, has only one ticket gate and two platforms (you cross the overpass to get to the Kawasaki-bound platform).
It's easy to get on the train towards Tachikawa.
It's quite rare to find benches so close to the ticket gates, isn't it?!
There are two-seater benches placed facing each other.

Behind the benches, there's a small flower bed, and even though it's in front of the station, it's kept clean with no trash lying around.
I also like the light green color used on the handrails and legs of the benches – it's as if they're trying to evoke a garden bench.
This is a pretty convenient meeting spot in Nakanoshima!
If I were still a student, I'd probably be meeting up with my friends at this bench.
By the way, the blue net behind is a pear orchard.
That's right, the area around Nakanoshima is famous for pears, and there are many pear-picking spots!
I love pears too, so I think I'll go again when the season comes!
So, why not give this seating area around Nakanoshima Station a try for your next rest stop?
