Ueno Zoo has three entrances, and the Ikenohata Gate, which is close to the penguins, is located on the Shinobazu-dori side.

You can see the sign for Ueno Zoo on the left side of the photo!
The Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line runs underground along Shinobazu-dori, and it's about a 5-minute walk from Ikenohata Gate to Nezu Station.

Now, across Shinobazu-dori from Ikenohata Gate, there is the high-rise apartment building "Ressan Tower Ueno Ikenohata."

Ressan Tower has a public open space, and there are spaces around it where you can sit and take a break.

There were geometric stone benches and tables lined up.
It's quite stylish, isn't it? The benches and tables are separated, so it seems a bit difficult to use them for sitting (lol)
Since they are stone benches, your bottom might get a little chilly.

Now, if you go towards Nezu Station and turn into the alley on the left, you'll find an oasis-like rest area with a deck and trees.
Since it's a little off Shinobazu-dori, you can relax and take a break here.

This four-person bench has punched planters as the backrests, which is also quite unique.
It's also recommended for families with children who want to take a break after visiting Ueno Zoo.
So, why not try using these places as places to sit and rest near Ueno Zoo and Nezu Station?
