The west exit of Omiya Station has a pedestrian deck, allowing direct access to facilities such as Omiya Sonic City, Sogo, Arche, DOM, and Marui.
In contrast to the east exit, which has a main shopping street, the west exit offers an urban landscape with many buildings.

It seems that the west exit area used to be a dense area of wooden houses on narrow roads.
The Omiya Station West Exit Land Readjustment Project, which began in 1969, was completed in 1990, and became a modern city representing Saitama City, including Sonic City.
And there was a place where you could sit and take a break on the west exit pedestrian deck.

This monument, called "Flying, Friendship and Participation, Peace," is a landmark.
Right next to it is "Arche," a fashion building for young people.
Two sets of stone benches for three people each were installed on both sides of the monument.
It felt a little unsettling because there were a lot of people passing by.

If you look from the monument towards Omiya Station, there is a small plaza.
There were stone benches where about 20 people could sit.
The rest area is spacious, which is convenient for meeting people at the west exit of Omiya Station.
Since you can access it without getting lost if you go out the west exit, it seems to function as an easy-to-find meeting place.
Live street performances and events are often held at this rest area.

Similar stone benches were scattered on the Sogo side.
As for the environment of the rest area, you can probably guess since it's in front of a terminal station, but there are some concerns about safety at night.
It seems like it can also be used as a place to quickly eat lunch or a boxed lunch in Omiya.
Also, near the pedestrian deck, there are also the "Benches near Waterbird" and the indoor "Lumine 2 West Exit Annex 2F", so please stop by as well.
So, why not use it as a resting place around Omiya?
