There's only one ticket gate at JR Otsuka Station, and you can access the north and south exits from the station's concourse.
And, towards the south exit in front of the station, there's Atre Vie Otsuka, and there is a seating area in the concourse in front of the Atre entrance.
There is space for about 20 people to sit.
Although it's a bit unclear if it's meant for sitting, there's an object that's just the right height for resting your back.
As for the congestion situation, I checked on weekends and holidays, and many people were using it as a meeting spot at Otsuka Station.
Indeed, it's close to Otsuka Station and in the concourse, so you can avoid rain and sunlight, making it very convenient.
Even the manager, Pen-ta, found himself sitting there, and thought it was a convenient spot for meeting in Otsuka.
However, after sitting there for a while, I noticed something....
"Hmm!? Come to think of it, it's right in front of Atre...which means!?"
When I took out my smartphone, sure enough, I could use Atre's free Wi-Fi, haha.
"Close to the station, protected from the rain, and free Wi-Fi" - the perfect combination.
That's why it's such a popular resting spot....
