On the 8th floor of Mitsukoshi in Sakae, there's a space called the Oriental Building Rooftop Plaza.
The rooftop plaza on the 10th floor is exclusively for the beer garden, so if you're looking for a place to relax on the rooftop, you'll want to head to the 8th floor.

Although it's a bit sparse, there are tables and chairs set up here and there on the rooftop plaza.
I visited in the summer, and the direct sunlight was quite intense, so no one was using them...

At the edge of the building, there's a Coca-Cola bench and a bench that looks like it belongs by a poolside.
It's a bit retro, isn't it?

There was a mini Ferris wheel that isn't currently operating. It has a rather melancholic feel.

A statue of a young man holding a shachihoko (a mythical creature with the head of a tiger and the body of a fish) and a kangaroo object. A mysterious combination!

There's also a prefab-like hut on the rooftop plaza, and you can take a break in a cool environment inside.
No one was here, so it might be a hidden gem of a rest spot in Sakae, perfect when you're using Mitsukoshi.

There are also vending machines, so you can use them to rehydrate.
Since there are tables as well, it's also easy to use for families with children.
Speaking of rooftops in Sakae, you should definitely check out Matsuzakaya, which still has a retro amusement park.

So, how about using this as a place to take a break and sit down around Sakae Station?
