Seibu-Chichibu is the gateway to Chichibu, where you can enjoy trips to Nagatoro, Mitsumineguchi, and the Chichibu power spots!
Seibu-Chichibu Station has nicely maintained areas directly connected to the station, such as "Matsuri no Yu," a day-trip hot spring, "Matsuri no Utage" food court, and "Chichibu Miyage-ichi" for souvenirs.
And, there's a place to sit and rest in the area near the bus rotary next to Matsuri no Yu and the plaza in front of the station.

There are rows of resin tables that can seat four people.
There is such a wide space next to the bus rotary.
It's easy to use as a meeting place for groups, bus tours, and school trips.

These are all-weather tables, similar to those you often see on rooftops, in parks, and at event venues.
They are convenient as a place to eat lunch or meet up at Seibu-Chichibu!
There are no obstructions around, so the sunlight is good.
The manager, Pen-ta, visited on the consecutive holidays of Marine Day in July, a very hot day... As expected, resting on this bench was hot, haha.
Now, let's explore the plaza a little more.

Here, a stone monument of the "Seibu Railway Chichibu Line Opening Commemoration" was placed.
There are wooden benches around where you can sit and rest.
The Seibu-Chichibu Line opened in 1969. It is thought to have greatly contributed to tourism and industry as a means of transportation to Tokyo.
Since there are no obstructions, you will be exposed to direct sunlight.
And, if you look towards Matsuri no Yu, you'll be greeted by a magnificent planting!

It's a powerful giant tree. It's a bald cypress of the family Taxodiaceae.
It seems that it was planted around the time the agricultural school (currently: Saitama Prefectural Chichibu Noko High School) opened in 1900.
I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow...!"
It's a planting that seems to give you power!

There was a stone monument at the base of the giant tree.
The history of Saitama Prefectural Chichibu Noko High School is written, and it indicates that the school building was located around this area at that time.
And, there are also wooden benches around the stone monument.
This is a perfect place for a break because there's shade from the giant tree.
I saw someone cycling on a road bike.
...The manager, Pen-ta, remembers riding a road bike in this area in the past.
So, it's suitable for use as a meeting place and a place to meet up at Seibu-Chichibu.
Why not try using the rest areas with seating around Seibu-Chichibu Station?
