To get to Ichozaka Slope and Aqua Park, head towards the Takanawa Exit of Shinagawa Station, go past the Keikyu ticket gates and Wing Takanawa, and then head towards the intersection of Dai-ichi Keihin Road.
Cross the intersection and go past the McDonald's in Wing Takanawa WEST, and you'll see the steep Ichozaka Slope.
And, there are rest areas with seating in front of Aqua Park Shinagawa and at the top of Ichozaka Slope.

There are six tables with four seats each at the top of the slope.
These tables are characterized by the presence of tarps, allowing you to rest in the shade and avoid direct sunlight.
Especially, the table seats under the trees on the platform have a great atmosphere with the sunlight filtering through the leaves, so we recommend them.
This is also a great place to eat your lunch in Shinagawa, and it's a convenient rest area for families with children.
I'll include photos of the table seats.

The tables are made of resin.
The tables are spaced widely to avoid hitting the tarps, so you can spend your time without worrying too much about your neighbors.
Also, there are nine wooden benches installed along the way up Ichozaka Slope.

Do you see how steep Ichozaka Slope is!?
It looks like a trick art, but the benches are designed to flexibly accommodate the length of your legs.
As for the congestion, I checked on weekends and holidays, and the benches were about 80% full.
On the other hand, the table seats were available.
Perhaps, people are too tired from the steep Ichozaka Slope to go up to the top, or they may not realize there are table seats there.
It's convenient to remember this if you want to take a break in the Takanawa Exit area of Shinagawa.
There's a McDonald's nearby, but many people seem to have trouble finding a seat because the inside is small, so it's a good idea to take out and eat here.
So, why not use these rest areas with seating in Shinagawa?
