Speaking of the Atre area of Shinagawa Station, you'll find the East-West Free Passage, famous as a major artery for salarymen. If you make it through there, you'll reach Konan Exit.
Recently, the East-West Free Passage gets incredibly crowded during the rush hour, with lines already forming inside the ticket gates ;;
Now, Konan Exit, which faces the Intercity area where high-rise buildings stand, is connected by pedestrian decks between the buildings.
As a meeting spot at Konan Exit, I personally recommend "Shinagawa Station Deck", but

I've discovered a new resting spot! (I wonder why I never noticed it before...)
There's a Shinagawa Station Konan Exit Police Box located on the lower floor near the center of the pedestrian deck, and there are benches next to it where you can sit and take a break.

There was a stone bench by the side of the stairs that can seat about 30 people.
Oh, this is a nice place to take a break.
It's usually very crowded in front of Shinagawa Station, making it difficult to meet up. But at this resting spot, you can take a breather away from the hustle and bustle.
Basically, it's designed to be divided into units of three seats, so it doesn't feel too crowded.
Also, it seems like a great place to quickly eat lunch or a packed lunch in Shinagawa.
Even so... human psychology is interesting, isn't it?
As you can see from the photo, people were properly seated in the three-seat sections.
Well, Penta naturally sat that way too (lol)
So, why not give this place a try as a place to rest in the Shinagawa Station area?
