To get to Shinjuku Takashimaya, the closest exit is the Miraina Tower ticket gate at JR Shinjuku Station, and you can also access it from the New South Exit ticket gate and the Southern Terrace Exit ticket gate.
Then, if you proceed along the deck from the station concourse on the 2nd floor of NEWoMan, you can reach the entrance/exit on the 2nd floor of Takashimaya.
There are stairs and escalators nearby that lead to the 1st floor.
When you go down the escalators, you should see stores like "ZARA, Victoria, and Starbucks Coffee" along the street in front of you.

Many wooden benches were installed along the street!
Wooden benches are placed on the road side in the photo, between Saint Marc Cafe and Victoria.

The sidewalk is designed to be wide, so although there is a lot of traffic, you can take a break without being too concerned.
It seems like a good place to quickly eat your lunch, too.
There are many benches, and they are spaced apart, so it was unexpectedly easy to take a break.

It's located near the underpass of the southeast exit of Shinjuku Station.
As the sidewalk gradually narrows and the traffic increases, it's best to take a break on the benches towards Takashimaya.
At this time, the comedy duo "Regular" were filming a TV show nearby. You can see them in the top left of the photo.
Regarding the congestion situation, it's crowded on weekdays and weekends/holidays alike.
However, since there are many seats, you probably won't find it completely full.
If you're looking for an indoor place, we recommend the "Takashimaya A Lobby Elevator" nearby!
So, how about using this as a resting place in the Shinjuku area?
