Around Tokyo Skytree, you'll find Tokyo Solamachi, Sumida Aquarium, Planetarium Tenku, and the East Tower, an office building. This entire area is known as Skytree Town.
And today, we're checking out some great rest areas in Solamachi, the shopping complex that connects to the Skytree entrance!
Solamachi is huge, so we'll be using the map to find these areas by yard number and address.

The rest areas we'll be introducing are on the outdoor deck in the light green area on the left side of the map.
The main entrances to the outdoor deck are:
- 2F West Yard, at the Pompadour shop (at address 4) (marked by the ▶ on the map)
- 2F East Yard, in front of BEAMS (at address 8) (marked by the ▼ on the map)
There are other entrances as well, but some may be closed to maintain air conditioning.
Now, let's check out these rest areas!

I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow... I didn't know there was such a lovely rest area in Solamachi!" (lol)
The deck in West Yard at address 4 has terrace-style seating with tables that can accommodate 3-4 people.

These well-maintained tables are perfect for families and those with children to take a break.
It's a convenient spot to remember if you want to eat a bento (boxed lunch) at Skytree/Solamachi ♪

And if you look closely, you'll see they have sunshades!
This is a great feature, as you can take a break while avoiding direct sunlight. It feels a bit like a picnic spot, doesn't it? ♪

Now, let's head towards Tokyo Skytree Station from West Yard, address 4, and address 1.
We see a green curtain! I wonder what's there.

Oh, we found an edamame-shaped bench!
There's a unique bench that can seat three people.
The bench is set back from the deck walkway, so you can relax without disturbing foot traffic.

And it's cool thanks to the green curtain...
It was a hot summer day, with temperatures exceeding 30°C, but it was surprisingly comfortable because we could avoid direct sunlight.
It's been a while since I've found a rest area with a green curtain! (lol)

There are also artistic benches, and many of them are placed along the deck!
This is a great spot for a date, and it's recommended if you want to take a relaxing break away from the crowded Solamachi.

Now, let's head from address 4 towards the East Yard and Cheese Garden.
We found an urban rest area with tables that can seat 3-4 people!
This is a cool deck rest space.
The walkways are wide, and there is less foot traffic, making it a great place to relax ♪

Tables continue beyond Cheese Garden.
And it's subtly covered, so you can relax here, too, while avoiding direct sunlight.
This is a hidden rest spot in Skytree/Solamachi!
I wish I could open my laptop here and do some remote work and update my blog!

Furthermore, if you go to East Yard, address 2, towards BEAMS, there are three tables.
It's also shaded here, so you can relax in the shade. It's spacious and nice!

From inside the store, it looks like this. You can read a book or use this as a nomad spot in Solamachi.
It's hard to imagine from the crowded state of Solamachi, but if you look around, you can find spots where you can relax.
So, why not use these spots as rest areas with seating around Skytree?
