To get to Higashi-Tabata Park, exit the North Exit of Tabata Station and cross the "Tabata Fureai Bridge" on your right.
After crossing the road, you'll pass by Takinogawa Dai-Yon Elementary School and head towards the railroad crossing, where you'll find the park.

This park is equipped with basic facilities such as swings, slides, a sandbox, and public restrooms.
Right behind the park is Takinogawa Elementary School, making it a great place for children to relax after school.
And, there was a place to sit and rest inside Higashi-Tabata Park.

There were 4 two-seater wooden benches.
The space in front of the benches was spacious, allowing for a comfortable rest.

The benches were well-worn, with noticeable paint peeling.
The benches have handrails in the middle, making them a friendly design for the elderly.
These handrails... I wonder if they were added later.
They're usually attached to the bench seats with clamps, but these were embedded in the ground.
They seem to function as supports for the aging benches.

Looking at the edge of the park, there were some train wheels on display.
These are from old trains that used to run on the Keihin-Tohoku Line and the Tohoku Line.
I wondered how the wheels didn't roll away, but they were securely fixed with an axle, haha.

The object of the wheels and sleepers was named "Yomi Yushou" as art.
What is Yomi...?
Between Ueno and Oku on the Tohoku Main Line, there is a Tohoku freight line that runs to the Oku Rolling Stock Center and the Tabata Yard.
The freight line has railroad crossings on the up and down lines, and the up line towards Ueno is named "Yomi-Higashi" railroad crossing, and the down line towards the marshalling yard is named "Yomi-Nishi" railroad crossing.
Yomi comes from the small district where the railroad crossing is located.

It was art that seemed fitting for "Tabata, the Holy Land of Railways," and while I was sitting and resting in the park, a train passed right by!
You can see the Shonan-Shinjuku Line and the Odoriko train up close, so children who love trains will surely enjoy it.
It can be used for a break with families with children or as a place to eat lunch in Tabata.
So, why not use it as a place to rest with seating around Tabata Station?
