We've started researching overseas rest areas! Our first stop is Taipei.
This time, we're visiting "Houtong Cat Village," a popular spot often recommended for Taiwan trips!
What is a cat village...?
As the name suggests, it's a cat village where many cats live.

"I licked something a little salty, nya~"
There are cat-related shops like cat goods stores and cafes, so I think cat lovers will love it!
To get to Houtong Cat Village, take the express train (Ziqiang) from Taipei Station to Ruifang Station, and then it's one stop on the Yilan Line or Pingxi Line.
The trains can get crowded on the way to Ruifang, so if you get tired, take a break at the rest spots below before heading to Houtong♪

Let's go to the cat village by passing through the connecting passage of Houtong Station!

At the entrance of the cat village, there was a cute cat object holding a bird.
Welcome to the cat village!

A rest area is located on a slightly elevated area to the right of the object!!
Two two-seater iron benches were installed.
Houtong Cat Village is bustling with many tourists, but there were few people around this bench, and we could relax and take a break♪

From the bench, you can enjoy the scenery of the ruins that used to be a coal preparation plant and the peaceful countryside.
It seems that Houtong prospered as a coal mining town in the factory managed by Mitsui Mining during the Japanese rule.
It has a great view, so it's a bench that can be used for dates! Cats might come to you if you sit there!?
Also, there are rest spots near Houtong Station, so be sure to check them out as well.

By the way, I used LCC for the first time in my life during my trip to Taiwan, and it was more comfortable than I expected, and I was able to go to Taiwan at a low price!
Here is a report on the inside of the LCC, which can be done on a low budget, and what I learned by actually using it.
So, why not use it as a meeting place and a place to rest in Taipei Station?
