You can reach Toshimaen via two lines: the Seibu Line and the Toei Oedo Line.
By the way, if you're coming from Shinjuku or Ikebukuro, the Seibu Line is a cheaper option!
And, there are places to sit and rest in "T's Garden," a commercial facility with restaurants, located past the station square on the Seibu Line side.

Wooden benches for three people are installed on the 1st and 2nd floors.
First, let's take a look at this photo, which shows the benches next to the stairs in front of Himono-ya.
Since this area is used for bicycle parking by T's Garden users, it didn't feel very relaxing.
Also, since there are no obstacles and there's plenty of sunlight, it was quite hot during the summer.
However, the design of the benches and the brick-like exterior walls are nice.

Next, the second photo shows the benches in front of "Gatten Sushi."
These are located behind the planting, so they're in a less conspicuous spot.
There is also a bicycle parking area here, but it's less crowded than the area next to the stairs, so it's more relaxing.
I checked it around noon on the last day of June, and there were benches in the shade of the planting, so you could take a break while avoiding direct sunlight.
Looking at the photo, it's just the right amount of shade!

And the third photo shows the benches in front of "Popola Mama" on the 2nd floor, which you can reach by climbing the stairs.
Similar benches are also placed on the 2nd floor deck on the Toshimaen side.
Since it was a Saturday at noon, there were many families having lunch before going to the Toshimaen pool, and Popola Mama was crowded.
Due to this, the benches were also occupied by waiting customers.
(※The Toshimaen pool is open from June 30th to September 2nd.)
You can see Toshimaen Station on the Seibu Line in front, and you can also see the scenery of the station square.
The "Benches in front of the station square" can also be used as a meeting spot in Toshimaen, which can be useful to remember!
Also, it's not just a simple open space, but it has some special features...
You'll notice it when you're looking from this deck, but I'll reveal a bit of a secret here.
Also, the benches on the Toshimaen side were in the shade, so it might be easier to use them in the summer.
By the way, the best way to purchase the Toshimaen ride one-day pass and pool tickets at the lowest price was Daily Plus.
You can get up to 57% OFF!
A 2,400 yen discount for the ride one-day pass (adults), and a 1,700 yen discount for the pool + admission ticket (adults)!
There is a monthly fee of 540 yen (including tax), but it's free for the first two months for new registrants.
You can easily pay for it with the Toshimaen discounts alone, so don't miss this opportunity.
So, how about using the area around Toshimaen Station as a place to sit and take a break?
