If you're in Toyama, you absolutely must visit Fugan Canal Kansui Park, also known as Canal Park.
The kanji might look a little intimidating, huh?
The Fugan Canal connects Toyama Bay to Minatoirifune-machi, where Kansui Park is located. The park itself is built around the area where ships used to dock.
At Kansui Park, you can enjoy canal cruises and art from the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art♪
So, I went to check out if there are any nice benches in Kansui Park!

What a beautiful park... The Tenmon Bridge looks just like Venice's Rialto Bridge.
It's a European-style space that reminds you of the scenery from a Venetian water bus.

Here's some information about Kansui Park~.
Basically, the Tenmon Bridge is in the center, Toyama Station is on the right with Starbucks and the Fountain and Waterfall Plaza, and the Open-Air Theater is on the upper left!
By the way, there are three restrooms.

And I found a fantastic rest area!
The lawn and the Tenmon Bridge look great together. How about using it as a date spot in Toyama!?

There were two benches for two people.
They have pergolas, so you can rest in the shade and avoid direct sunlight!

This bench is open and feels great, without anything blocking the view.
Yes, this is exactly the kind of bench I was looking for, within walking distance from the station.
You can see the Starbucks Kansui Park store in front of you.

Let's walk a little from the bench to the Ushijima Lock Gate side.
There were trees and stone benches where you could sit and relax.
It's also nice to eat lunch or have a picnic at Kansui Park♪
(By the way, a lock gate is a device for raising and lowering ships.)

There are elevators on both sides of the Tenmon Bridge, allowing you to access the observation tower!
You can enjoy a panoramic view of Kansui Park and the view of the Tateyama Mountain Range.
There's also a string telephone that you can use to talk to people on the other side of the bridge♪
The observation tower is open from 9:00 to 21:30.

From the Tenmon Bridge, you can see the Fugan Suijo Line boarding area, where you can enjoy a canal cruise.
There are various courses, but the cheapest one is the Kansui Park loop (weekends and holidays only) for 400 yen.
There is usually a boat about every hour. You can buy tickets on the day or make a reservation.
For more information, please refer to the official website: Fugan Suijo Line!

And when you cross the Tenmon Bridge to the Open-Air Theater side, you'll find a stone bench with a wonderful view.
You can look out over Starbucks and the Fountain and Waterfall Plaza.
Yes, it's a bench for admiring Starbucks.

There's another wooden bench for two people near the shore.
This bench is also recommended as a date spot in Toyama, and it would be nice to relax and read a book here.

Starbucks Toyama Kansui Park store, which is said to be the most beautiful Starbucks in the world.
It's about a 12-minute walk from Toyama Station to Starbucks. It's also great that you can walk from the Shinkansen station.
If you take a photo by the window, it'll look great on Instagram (lol)
Furthermore, there is a row of cherry blossom trees on the deck, and the scenery is spectacular in spring.

Let's go to the Open-Air Theater from Starbucks.
A beautiful promenade with trees such as metasequoia continues.
Even if Starbucks in Kansui Park is full, it's okay, take out a coffee and take a walk here.
Oh, I want to come back here again and forget everything (I stopped by on my way back from a business trip!)

The Open-Air Theater is on the right side of the approach.
Concerts and events are held there.

I looked at the Tenmon Bridge from the Fountain and Waterfall Plaza.
I was only able to be there during the daytime, but it seems to be famous as a night view spot in Toyama, so I'll come again.

So, why not use it as a place to rest in the Toyama Station area?
